Atira has exciting and meaningful opportunities for diverse volunteers including:
- Child and youth care and activities
- Cooking and meal prep
- Assistance with crafts nights, beauty nights, games nights, movie nights.
- Leading arts workshops at EWMA
- Assisting with EWMA studio and store
- Administrative assistance
- Leading a yoga, mindfulness, or exercise class
- Helping with intakes at our Legal Advocacy program
- Photography, video or graphic design
If you have another skill not listed that you would like to share as a volunteer, please get in touch and we’ll see if there’s a fit for you!
*Atira does not accept volunteers wishing to provide counselling or therapy services to women or children, though we do accept a limited number of practicum students each year in this field.
Front-line Volunteer Opportunities
Atira is currently developing a volunteer support worker training program, with an anticipated launch of our first volunteer cohort in Fall 2019. If you would like to be put on the waitlist for more information, please email us.Get the Support to Succeed
We have a robust volunteer training program so you get the training, guidance and equipment you need to excel. You’ll be equipped with a volunteer agreement, liability insurance and a set number of training hours. After that, we’ll check in and see how you’re doing and if the role is a good fit.
